built in just seven days, house hemeroscopium by ensamble studio consists of seven prefabricated elements. the combination creates an architectural space of alternating heaviness and lightness, balance and instability.

house hemeroscopium embraces a domestic space and a distant horizon. this is done through a combination of facilities, which contains the living spaces, bedrooms and kitchen.

based on the basic principle of the lever, the design reinterprets the concept of weight. the counterweight is a 20-tonne block of granite which is entrusted with the task of balancing the whole system, which also is an aesthetic characteristic.

eVolo's 2010 Skyscraper Competition

eVolvo invites students and professional architects, engineers, and designers to take part in the 2010 Skyscraper Competition. The main idea of this contest is to examine the relationship between the skyscraper and the natural world, the skyscraper and the community and the skyscraper and urban living.

In the last few years we have seen hundreds of new skyscrapers been developed around the world without careful consideration to the context or environment. There is a constant lack of urban planning and poor architectural design without intellectual or perceptual enjoyment. The aim of the competition is to push our imagination to redefine the term skyscraper through the use of new materials, technology, aesthetics, programs, and spatial organizations. Globalization, environmental warming, flexibility, adaptability, and the digital revolution are just some of the multi-layered elements that should be taken in consideration.

There are no restrictions in regards to site, program or size. The objective is to provide maximum freedom to propose the most innovative projects for this fascinating architectural genre. Ultimately, the designs should help the environment, restructure our cities and improve our way of life. Immediate.

Registration All students, architects, engineers, and designers are invited to participate in the competition. It is encouraged to have multidisciplinary teams.

Susulan Kejadian Bumbung Stadium Sultan Mizan Runtuh

KUALA TERENGGANU: Sebahagian bumbung Stadium Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin di Kompleks Sukan Gong Badak di sini, runtuh semalam menyebabkan timbul pelbagai persoalan kerana stadium bernilai RM292 juta itu baru setahun digunakan. Dalam kejadian jam 9.30 pagi itu, struktur bahagian bumbung di tempat duduk utama termasuk Pentas Diraja ranap dan menimpa sebuah kereta, tiga motosikal serta sebuah jentera berat yang diletak berhampiran kawasan itu, tetapi tiada kemalangan jiwa dilaporkan.

KUALA TERENGGANU: Butiran terperinci berhubung rekaan dan bahan binaan bumbung tanpa sokongan tiang atau ‘space frame’ untuk Stadium Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin yang runtuh Selasa lalu, tidak pernah diberikan kepada arkitek utama projek itu, Raja Datuk Kamarul Baharin Shah Raja Ahmad. Raja Kamarul Baharin berkata, walaupun syarikatnya Senibahri Arkitek tidak bertanggungjawab terhadap struktur bumbung itu, beliau sudah menyuarakan kebimbangan mengenai ketidakstabilan rekaan itu kepada Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) tahun lalu dan sekali lagi pada awal tahun ini.

KUALA TERENGGANU: Bumbung Stadium Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin dekat sini yang runtuh pagi semalam tidak memiliki Sijil Siap Kerja yang dikeluarkan Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR).

Timbalan Pengarah Kerja Raya Negeri, Ghazali Hashim, ketika mengesahkan perkara itu, berkata bumbung berkenaan adalah antara kemudahan di stadium itu yang belum diberikan sijil berkenaan.

Mengikut amalan kerja, katanya, JKR akan mengeluarkan Sijil Siap Kerja terhadap bangunan milik kerajaan yang sudah siap dibina.
