AIRTIME

The artime is a new concept for a watch that tells time according to the wearer's body rhythm. the concept is the creation of the french design studio design by 8. the watch face is composed of a grid that pulses and moves in beat to the user's rhythm. to tell the time, the watch moves the grid around to reveal the time as a digital reading. the watch then reshuffles the pieces of the grid to cover up the time. instead of always being present, the watch only tells the time at intervals. these intervals correspond to the user and not the increments of time.

Harbin Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival

In frigid northeastern China, in the city of Harbin is hosting its 26th annual International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival. Massive buildings built of ice from the frozen surface of the nearby Songhua River, large scale snow sculptures, ice slides, festival food and drinks can be found in several parks in the city. At night, visitors who endure the bitter cold will see the lights switched on, illuminating the sculptures from both inside and outside. This year's festival opened yesterday, January 5th, and will remain open until some time in February. Collected here are several photos from just before the festival, and of the opening night

DARKSIDERS; the last days CONTEST

We are challenging you to create a piece of artwork in any visual medium depicting a creative and personal interpretation of the last days of Earth during an ‘apocalypse’. What would the end of the world mean to you? Is it your favorite TV show getting canceled? Your best friend moving across the country? A world with no ketchup (OMG!)? Whether your version is "fire and brimstone" in the biblical sense or a world overrun by cannibalistic bunnies – we want to see what your ‘last days’ would look like!

As an extra special treat, the winners for this contest will be selected by Joe Madureira of Vigil Games, AKA Joe Mad!
